I’m Ryan Monceaux, a Houston-area real estate agent and entrepreneur.
Since I was a kid, I’ve been addicted to 3 things: politics, college sports, and writing. At LSU, I wrote one side of a political debate column for an alt-weekly. After transferring to the University of Houston, I became sports editor of the student newspaper and yearbook. Later, I was an editor for CollegeSportsNews.com (RIP) and began writing for other local and national publications. I now primarily write about politics, media, and college sports.
Over the past few years, I’ve mentored teens in a substance abuse treatment facility. I’ve also been a “big” in the Big Brothers/Big Sisters program and volunteered with Ronald McDonald House at Texas Children’s Hospital. Previously, I served as a committeeman with the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo.
I still live and die with UH & LSU football and baseball. And I’m pretty active – I play rec league football, tournament golf, and a little tennis. I’m a native of beautiful Iowa, Louisiana, although I’ve lived in Houston for the last 25 years.
